SEAL / INSULATE / IMPROVE AIRFLOW

Ductwork upgrades.
Better air delivery.

Uneven room temperatures, damaged ducts or missing insulation? We review the problem before recommending changes. Ductwork upgrades require a site inspection and written estimate—not a price based on floor area or vent count alone.

No long questionnaire. An approximate outlet count can start a rough budget discussion. We confirm scope, any diagnostic or visit charge, and appointment availability before booking.

IMPROVE WHAT YOUR SYSTEM ALREADY HAS

Different problems. The right kind of upgrade.

Duct sealing & reconnection

Address accessible leaking joints, disconnected branches and register connections. Sealing keeps air on its intended supply and return paths; it does not remove a restriction or fix an undersized return.

Duct insulation repairs

Repair damaged insulation and jackets, or scope insulation upgrades where needed. Review moisture first: wet insulation should not simply be covered with another layer.

Airflow & comfort improvements

Review supply and return paths, filter resistance and static pressure. Suitable work may include a balancing damper, an improved return path or replacement of a damaged duct section.

Transitions & targeted duct replacement

Scope new flex runs and custom sheet-metal transitions around the actual equipment and available space. Major redesign or new whole-house ductwork needs a separate proposal after inspection.

Duct sealing, insulation and cleaning are different services. This is not a routine duct-cleaning package. Read the duct sealing and insulation guide for the differences and safe checks you can make at home.

LOCAL WORK / NOT A WHOLE-SYSTEM ESTIMATE

Local repairs and diagnostics—not a project total.

These service and labor prices cover the named local work, with normal access. They are not per-outlet rates: do not multiply them by your grille count to price a ductwork upgrade. Duct, insulation, sheet metal, dampers and other materials are itemized separately unless explicitly included in your written quote.

Airflow and Static Pressure Diagnostic

$275

Duct Leakage Investigation

Starting at $325

Minor Duct Repair

Starting at $275

Duct Insulation Repair

Starting at $275

Balancing Damper Installation

Starting at $325

New Flex Duct Run

Starting at $475

Custom Sheet-Metal Transition

Starting at $650

These are options, not a checklist of charges. We confirm which diagnostic applies and any visit charges before booking. Repair scope, materials, difficult access and any required opening or restoration work are reviewed before approval. Overlapping work is reviewed together so the same task is not charged twice.

A CLEAR SCOPE BEFORE WORK STARTS

Find the cause. Approve the work. Check the result.

Supply and return counts help start a preliminary budget discussion. Before a firm project quote, we inspect the site and confirm the layout, airflow requirements, shared ducts, access, materials and proposed work. After the approved work, airflow and operation are checked as appropriate. Insulation levels and installation details depend on the duct location, manufacturer instructions and applicable requirements.

Unknown old duct wrap, unsafe access or suspected hazardous materials may require specialist assessment before HVAC work proceeds. We do not promise a fixed percentage of energy savings or that sealing alone will solve every uncomfortable room.

A service request does not reserve a calendar slot. An airflow diagnostic is not a free equipment-replacement estimate.

BEFORE THE VISIT

Common questions.

Want to understand the problem first?

See how leakage, insulation and condensation affect air delivery.

Read the ductwork guide →
Can I upgrade ducts without replacing the HVAC system?

Often, yes. The proposed work still needs to suit the existing equipment and its airflow requirements. A fault in the equipment or a heat-loss problem in the house may need a different solution.

Is insulation the same as sealing?

No. Sealing addresses air leaks; insulation limits heat transfer and, with a suitable intact jacket, helps manage condensation risk. Your ducts may need one, both or a more specific repair.

Is this included with maintenance or replacement?

Not automatically. Duct repair and upgrade work is a separate scope unless explicitly included in the written maintenance or replacement proposal.

Can outlet counts help estimate the cost?

Yes, for an initial budget discussion. Separate the supply outlets from return grilles, identify which HVAC system they serve and describe whether you need sealing, insulation repairs or replacement. Counts alone cannot set a firm price: the site inspection and written estimate establish the actual project scope.

Is each grille priced the same?

No. A grille may share a branch with other outlets; return paths, trunk ducts and transitions also vary. We do not count all visible grilles as identical chargeable runs. The local service prices above are not a per-vent upgrade calculator.
